Maria Stern Salmon-orange Hybrd Tea, plant patent applied for,  This highly desirable new rose was personally selected by Otto Stern, founder and president of Stern’s Nurseries Inc. as a living tribute to his wife.  Each bloom has a texture like velvet, and is almost carnation like with its many-petaled, wavy-edged beauty.  ‘Maria Stern’ retains its brilliant salmon-orange color even in the hottest weather. World-renowned hybridizer Herbert Brownell and his late wife, Charlotte, followed in the footsteps of his late father and mother, Dr and Mrs Walter D. Brownell, originators of the disease-resistant, Sub-Zero Roses, brings his lifetime of hybridizing experience to the fore in producing this magnificent rose. The parentage of the ‘Maria Stern’ is ‘Tip Toes’ and ‘Queen Elizabeth’. With such outstanding parents, it is no wonder that ‘Maria Stern’ is sub-zero,  hardy, disease resistant and blackspot immune, even in wet seasons. The perfume from its well-shaped flowers is rich and spicy - a pure delight to the sense of smell.
