Sweet Promise is healthy in my alkaline clay, I don't spray. It's sensitive to salt in fertilizer, organics is best. This rose blooms well in poor-drainage heavy clay and alkaline tap-water.

Sweet promise blooms stand up to 100 degrees and doesn't fade. The bush is 80% smooth, very low thorn with healthy glossy foliage. Good vase life, and the scent is delightful like apple blossoms.

Sweet Promise, center, holds its color and bloom size well in 90 to 100 degrees heat. Honey Bouquet is the large yellow in the left side, the rest are Austins. Sweet Promise smells good regardless of the weather.
