'R. platyacantha' rose Description

Bloom:
Yellow. up to 5 petals. Average diameter 1.5". Small to medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Rounded buds.
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles, spreading. Light green foliage. 5 to 9 leaflets.
Height: 39" to 6'7" (100 to 200cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Belongs to the Pimpinellifolia section (styles free, shorter than the stamens, blooms solitary, without bracts). Its leaflets are abaxially glandular and serrated like R. hugonis and R. xanthina, but only on the upper part of the leaflet, the lower being entire.
