'Petite Mignonette' rose Reviews & Comments

This plant looked like it died last summer, but this spring it is coming back, we have had the coldest winter in 50 years. Our temperatures were on par with a zone 4b winter. I have added it back to the garden list.

My plant looks like the antique nursery ad, it is a small plant that's very tender to cold, perfect warm weather is best. The blooms are very small, and pale pink, in average temperatures, it has a faint clove-baby powder scent. Hopefully it will like being in full sun, I might be able to keep more than 3 canes on it.

Tiny tiny blooms of lilac pink, Cliff Orent had the original-the first polyantha; Mountain Mignonette's pictures show an open single bloom. Mignonette's blooms are less than 1/2 inch, and fade to white. They are not fragrant, but the rose blends well with other plants, it looks a bit like baby's breath, or a small light pink aster. The whole bush is about 2x2ft.

This is another of the roses that has "passed the test" at Longwood Gardens and is recommended by them as a rose that would do well in any garden in southeastern Pennsylvania.
