Species-group Rosa rubiginosa L.
0,5-3 m high shrubs with strong, sickle-shaped, flat prickles, up to 1 cm wide at their base. 7 or 5 leaflets, doubly glandular serrated, more or less pubescent beneath, with many red glands, apple fragrance. Blooms red to almost white. Diameter 2.5-4 cm. Sepals partly foliaceous. Fruit golubular to ovoid, orange to red, glandular or glabrous.

Rosa elliptica Tausch. Duft-Rose, Rosier à feuilles elliptiques, Rosa a foglie ellittiche. Most leaflets are narrowed in a wedge-form at their base. Pedicels short and glabrous. Style densely pubescent. Sepals extended after blooming, persistent. Fruit generally glabrous. July. Thickets, stone heaps, hilly-mountaneous areas. ..2n=35. R. graveolens Gren.
