I'm surprised no one has commented about this rose cultivar being extremely susceptible to blackspot. So much, that in my opinion it shouldn't be sold anymore.

Perhaps BS is not so much a problem in the colder than 5 zones, where I imagine this rose is most at home.

My experience with 'Morden Fireglow' is in the geographical region (Canadian Prairies) that it was specifically developed for. This is either a Zone 2 or 3 climate.

Morden Fireglow does extremely well at my place. No black spot. It is growing in an open location with lots of wind. I have heard from others that the petals are too thin and it tends to ball in hot or wet weather.

This rose originated with a cross in 1976 (the seedling code is 76F5J401) when Henry Marshall was the breeder at Morden Experiment Station. Ms. Collicutt began working at Morden Station several years later.

I have two of them and mine are definitely not orange or orange red. They look pretty much like the photo with ID 135305 posted by Celeste Woodbury, maybe a tad more pink than the photo. I wouldn't describe this as "orange". Anyone else finding them not being orange?
