Hi,
Was looking up Night Song and it is described as very double ( as Trevor Griffiths comment in References-isn't he Australian?-might they have received another rose under that name by mistake?) Anyway, the pics look like a semi-double. Don't recall what the Buck Rose website says but Roses Unlimited has a pic and it looks semi-double to me. I can't see how a fully double would open and show so many stamens. Sorry, another thing needing investivation. I don't grow it nor have seen it live. I am sure Pat Henry of Roses Unlimited would be able to help.
Thanks,
Jim Provenzano

Jim......

I put up the reference from Modern Roses 12 which says 'Night Song' has 33 petals. The terms semi-double, double, etc. tend to change in rose literature over time, so some roses that were once defined as "double" would now be defined as "full", 26 - 40 petals, using the current ARS definitions of bloom form. It is very possible for a "double" rose with 17 - 25 petals or a "full" rose with 26 - 40 petals to open flat and display the boss of stamens you see in most of the photos of 'Night Song'.

Thanks for putting up your COMMENT, it made me take another look at the information we had on HMF about the rose.

Smiles,
Lyn

Hi,
Just checked the Buck Rose website and it does say double (30-35 petals) so I guess it is. They sure flop though, LOL.
