Bred by Bougère (France, 1835).
Introduced in France by Louis-Xavier Granger in 1843 as 'Niphetos'.
Introduced in Australia by Exotic Nursery (Australia) in 1866 as 'Niphetos'.

Tea.  

White.  Outer petals large, center petals narrow, crumpled, (ragged, irregular). Thorns are solitary, much recurved, and very thick. (pédoncle quadrangulaire).  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 3.25".  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), globular, nodding or "weak neck" bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  

Well-branched.  Small, light green, dense foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  

Height: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm).
