Though it is impossible to be certain, this rose is probably dedicated to Davide Bertolotti (1784-1860). Born and died in Turin, Bertolotti was a well-known writer and journalist based in Milan, who wrote, among other things a short story entitled "The vase of roses".
As usual with the roses (and camelias) bred in the Villa Traversi by Casoretti, the names are those of the cultural elite of Lombardy.
