Nigel Pratt of Tasman Bay Roses says this rose has medium-sized light pink quartered flowers in groups of 3 or 4 and with a button eye... On 7 October 1893, the members of the Omar Khayyám Club planted the rose 'Omar Khayyám' on the grave of Edward Fitzgerald at Woodbridge Church in the county of Suffolk. This was raised at Kew from seed taken in 1884 from a rose on the grave of the poet at Nishapur, Persia.
