Bred by Barbier Frères & Compagnie (France, before 1900).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'René André'.

Hybrid Wichurana, Rambler.  
Bloom:
Copper, pink shading, ages to blush .  Strong, apple, tea fragrance.  Average diameter 2.5".  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 15' to 20' (455 to 610cm).  Width: 8' (245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  Prune after flowering is finished.
