'Condesa da Foz' rose Reviews & Comments

Dear people,
My RĂªve d'or was planted in 2023 against a hot sunny south facing wall in zone 8b in Belgium. Immediately she got growth everywhere and slender, thin shoots started to cover two square meters. She's healthy but I've only seen three flowers. Beautiful golden Safrano like blooms but with more petals. Does this rose needs time to start blooming? Thanks!

Own-root?
The root system may need more time to build and produce vegetative growth before it blossoms more freely.

No, grafted. I bought it from Lens in Belgium as a container rose. It grows freely but no blooms.

You might try a high phosphorous fertilizer. Sometimes that helps.

I'll try that! But I have time so I hope she will start showing off sooner than later lol. Thx!

In my experience this one wants to be large and was never an overly profuse after spring flush.
Lens should have provided a decent clone.
Give it some love and no doubt you'll be well rewarded in time.

Beautiful, very vigorous and healthy rose, however, I found a certain sensitivity to cold and problems with the flowers that are eaten by cetonias. Perhaps the colors of the flowers attract these insects a lot. I do not recommend this rose in the plains of northern Italy because it is always infested with this insect. Even 4/5 individuals per flower.(Oxythyrea funesta).

Will grow in light shade in my zone, 10a. near the pacific ocean. Reve D'or will climb in a tree if trained. No hip removal necessary! EXTREMELY fast grower, give her plenty of room! Always clean and disease free. AMAZING ROSE!
