Perhaps not which Edward? There was actually a Steamship "RMS Royal Edward", which belonged to the Canadian Northern Steamship Company and was sunk on August 13, 1915 by a German submarine in the Aegean Sea. "Royal Edward" was bringing troops to Gallipoli and 864 lives were lost. Our Canadian friends perhaps know the real story behind the name.
"'Royal Edward' was designated in 1995 as an official rose of McGill University Royal Edward Hospital, Montreal, Quebec. This hospital was named after the British King Edward VII, son of Queen Victoria, hence the name."
2012 was my first season with this one and I really like it overall. It has great disease resistance and lots of hips. Color and bloom form are ok but I'm using it as a parent in crosses with miniatures so I don't mind.
