Oops, I misread the patent. One of the rose encyclopedia's on Google Books says it is the same seed parent w/ Rainbow's End as the pollen parent.

Whatever this rose is, Im 100% certain it isnt what is stated. It just doesnt make any sense.

Hi Michael........

Often the parentage listed in different references differ. I'd be happy to add the REFERENCE you found online and a note that there is a difference of opinion about the lineage.

The parentage listed on HMF is the same lineage the breeder provided to the American Rose Society when the rose was registered. I just confirmed this by checking the Modern Roses 12 database.

Smiles,
Lyn

The patent is polarized with the parentage information on this rose I have seen everywhere. The patent states:

"The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the miniature rose class, which was created by crossing as seed parent an unnamed, undistributed seedling as pollen parent another unnamed, undisseminated seedling of the same parentage. The varietal denomination of this new rose is `Savahold`."

So, even though the seed and pollen parent are different, they would still read as [(AxB)x(AxB)] instead of [(AxB)x(CxD)] as stated everywhere. This makes more sense to me as I have grown behold and it has nothing in common with the pollen parent cross stated everywhere.
