'Showtime' rose References
Book (Feb 1993) Page(s) 211. Includes photo(s). Showtime Large-flowered hybrid tea. Parentage: 'Kordes Perfecta' x 'Granada' USA 1969. Description and cultivation... an exhibition rose... true pink and the buds and blooms hold their shape well for long periods making this an ideal cutting rose...
Book (1972) Page(s) 143. p143. Dr. Thomas, Victoria. The New Ones. Showtime. HT. (Lindquist, 1969) is another deep pink rose. The plant is very strong and gives great numbers of blooms. It has not been as good so far as several others and big plants in New Zealand confirmed this opinion.
Book (1971) Page(s) 24. Roy and Heather Rumsey, NSW. New Roses. Showtime HT. (Lindquist). Deep pink with a yellow base. A most beautiful high centred bloom nearly always borne singly, and having about 25 to 30 petals. Vigorous bushy growth with shiny foliage. The only fault we could suggest is that the necks were a little weak, but we confidently expect this to be overcome with more mature plants. ('Kordes' Perfecta' x 'Granada'.)
Book (1970) Page(s) 160. Includes photo(s). Showtime Medium pink Hybrid Tea. Exciting new pink exhibition rose. Perfectly formed buds open slowly to lovely soft medium pink blooms. A “show“ rose in all stages, the symmetrically shaped petals create large classic flowers even when fully open. The vigorous bushy plant is covered with bright Irish green foliage. Flowers of show quality are usually produced on single stems and have a most pleasant fruity fragrance
