Hybrid Multiflora.

Bred by William Edward Lippiatt (New Zealand, circa 1904).

Species Cross, Understock.  

Light pink turning white as the flower ages..  None to mild fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 2".  Small, single (4-8 petals), in bundles, cluster-flowered bloom form.  Moderate, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Small, rounded buds.  

Short, compact, dense.  Small, semi-glossy, light green, dense foliage.  

Height: 10" to 20" (25 to 50cm).  

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, garden, rock garden, specimen or understock.  Hardy.  flowers drop off cleanly.  produces decorative hips.  shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, blackspot resistant, very mildew resistant, very rust resistant.

Eric Bullen (Lippiatts Grand Son who worked with him) says this multiflora was very thorny, with hooked prickles. It was dwarf and used mainly as an understock for polyanthas.

It produces a lot of nice small hips. Fertile.
