Bloom:
Deep pink to light purple, red reverse, veining. 30 to 60 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium to large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Short, few or no prickles/thorns. 3 to 5 leaflets.

Mentioned as similar to 'Bengale Tamerlan'. see References. An 1854 reference states that the noisette 'Demetrius' by Laffay is also a synonym 'Grande et Belle' and 'La Superbe' may be distinct roses.
