'Souvenir de Claudius Pernet' rose Reviews & Comments

Hello, I would like to identify a rose that my mother planted in the eighties. No one remember it's name ; it was purchased at a local shop that used to sell some flowers. During my childhood all the roses that were planted were unscented, contemporary or classic, I do not think there was any local access to ancient or rare roses, so I would be surprised if that one belonged to the second category. The rose in question is approximately 3 meters high, but only "trained" by two wires that keep it along a West-facing wall. Flowers have a slight scent. I would call it a once-bloomer, with one or two occasional flowers until Christmas. The stems are often 's' shaped, with the buds always pointing strictly upwards. I have searched on Helpmefind, and Souvenir De Claudius Permet and its ancestry were the best matches I have found, so I am wondering if this rose is really a repeat bloomer and if someone can relate it to the pictures I just took ? Thanks, Thomas.

Nice rose. However, the stems of your rose look smooth, compared to the glandular ones of the rose we have by this name in Australia.

Thank you Margaret ! The advanced search results are giving me few answers but I will have a further look at the roses without pictures.

Phillips & Rix (1993), “The Quest for the Rose”, p. 114: Joseph [Pernet's] two sons were to have taken over the [rose] business but both were killed in the First World War. Their roses, Souvenir de Claudius Pernet and Souvenir de Georges Pernet, are still grown. Joseph arranged for Jean Gaujard to take over in 1924.
