Eric, is it possible someone from this nursery would be interested in updating their nursery's plant list ? There is a much more expedient method than updating a single rose a time.

I agree. Having to plough through 70 or so "available from"s is not my idea of fun. I'll add the roses - and then delete your comments so that others do not have to plough.

I've just seen this. I've finished entering all the Kurinda roses now, anyway. There are two or three to come not yet known to HMF, but they will keep.

“Alison Madden” added.
‘Pride of Venus’ added. Is this a Nieuwesteeg-bred rose?
‘Magic Fire’. We’ve got three of ‘em. But Nieuwesteeg’s 2008 catalogue says the one they stock is a 1999 rose. Do you know who bred this 1999 rose?
'Holly Hocker'. I have nothing at all on this rose.

Patricia, you are very quick off the mark. I suspect some of them are just plain mistakes.
I have written to John asking his opinion of the Clarkiness of Alison Madden.
Pride of Venus could be anything. So could Holly Hocker—it's a rugosa it seems.

If you can follow up on 'Magic Fire' and 'Holly Hocker', we'll add them when we have more info.

Hi there! 'Pride of Venus' is the same rose as 'Elfe' (same code: TANefle) bred by Hans Jurgen Evers & released by Tantau Roses in 2000.

Thank you, Damo.
There is also a Climbing Desert Glow, rarity among rarities, which I am chasing up.

I've tracked down "Holly Hocker". It was found by John Nieuwesteeg about 2010. It is a rugosa like Roserai de l'Hay, with the same colouring and scent but many more petals. The bush grows to 2 metres. The rose is called Holly Hocker because the bush looks like a hollyhock.
Can we please create a new entry for Holly Hocker so we can allocate it to Kurinda Rose Nursery?

'Holly Hocker' added. Heavens knows how we will find this thread again in the future if ever needed.

"Found" meaning spontaneous seedling, sport, or discovered in an old garden?
