'MORsemuri' rose Reviews & Comments

I have this rose on order from Sequoia nursery which is closing it's doors this year. I've read in one of the ezine articles here that there are complaints that this rose does not rebloom. I'd like to hear who grows this rose and what results you have gotten from it. Even if it is a once bloomer, its an adorable rose from all the photo's I've seen. I'll have to report back how this rose does in my organic garden in zone 7.

Bob, in my experience 'Star Magic' produces some repeat, but only as the plant matures. I got no repeat the first few years. 'Star Magic' wants to get large in order to repeat and be happy.

Thanks for your response. I plan on giving this rose a spot where it can do as it pleases and get as big as it likes. Perhaps liberal fish emulsion over the years will get both huge bush size and some rebloom from it.

I'll be curious to hear how 'Star Magic' adapts to life in Virginia Bob, especially in terms of disease resistance. I'm guessing it prefers a warmer drier climate. I've never fed mine much as it is quite vigorous and quickly outgrew the space I had allotted for it. Please let us know how it fares for you there.
Be aware that this rose is quite prickly and will scramble through shrub and trees if given a chance.
