I had same problems like other comments when I start grows this rose two year ago in container. But I realized that foliage is perfectly fine in winter-spring time and prone to mildew from late spring. I just igore this bush then left under the shaded area. Lately I don't see alot of mildew on it, plant is not much vigor but produce quality bloom with visible green shade.
I have grown this for a number of years now, and I have concluded that the blooms are practically immortal. They could be used in dried flower arrangements.
Holds up well in the heat. I find that a partly shaded location is best for this rose in my area. Im surprised there's no mention of fragrance. It has ( to my nose) a strong clear tea fragrance.
