The only reference for this sport puts the date of it as 1988 - a year before its parent?

This is theoretically possible, if the date of 1989 for 'Mary McKillop' is the year of introduction. The actual breeding year could be 5-10 years earlier. I would change the date for MMcK to "Before 1988"
