Vesuvius HT. Good, reliable rebloom / Outstanding fragrance / twiggy, compact, bushy, high-centered Tea-like blooms.  McGredy, 1923.  Velvety-crimson single flowers with golden stamens;  one of the early single Hybrid Teas.  We cannot recommend a rose more highly, and single crimsons are rare.

Vesuvius (1923). Of relatively recent origin with modern colouring.  Large, almost single, six-petalled flowers are deep velvety crimson with golden stamens.  Luxuriant foliage and growth.

Vesuvius (McGredy 1923), described as having six petals and a color of fiery crimson, hasn't found its way into my garden yet, but it is one I have been trying to purchase for some time.

Thinly built roses embrace the singles and semi-doubles. Three single roses that I still grow are 'Isobel', 'Vesuvius' and 'Mrs. Oakley Fisher'....Vesuvius is a bright bit of scarlet-crimson, with a free, bushy habit and looks best when massed.
