This specimen was isolated from a single white sport branch on a very old specimen of 'Dorothy Perkins' (pink) years ago. You can see it still occasionally produces bits of pink here and there.

From 1913 series of Wills's cigarette cards (No 67) Text on reverse of card: WHITE DOROTHY. (Wichuraiana.) As the name implies, it is a white form of the celebrated Dorothy Perkins from which it is a "sport," being identical in everything but colour. Excellent for arches, pillars, pergolas, screens, or for sloping banks. Absolutely hardy, mildew - proof, and will thrive in any situation. Introduced in 1908, and awarded the National Rose Society's Gold Medal.
