p115 Hedley Buchanan grew it [‘Pink Petticoat’] in his Palmerston North garden and one day noticed it had put out a branch which contained an exquisite ivory white bloom. Delighted with the beautiful sport, he took cuttings. They rooted and he had some lovely bushes of a completely new rose. He called it ‘Jolene’ after one of his granddaughters….. ‘Jolene’ delighted everyone who saw it so he displayed a vase of the rose at the 1986 Autumn Show of the Manawatu Rose Society. ‘Jolene’ has beautiful form, holds well in a vase and would make a memorable bridal bouquet.
Book (1986) Page(s) 55. Editor. [Dawn Chisholm] Hedley [Buchanan] had a most attractive cream sport from the Miniature 'Pink Petticoat' which he had named 'Jolene' after a grand-daughter....
