Simon Dot Canalias is the father of Pedro Dot. his specialty was the fruit trees. Totally unlikely to make this Rose. There is no news, or document that endorses this information. It is wrong.

Have you seen the reference from 1928? Rathlef must have taken this information from somewhere. It is of course possible that the rose was bred by Pere Dot and named "Simon Dot's seedling" in honour of his father. The cross is quite typical of Pere Dot's work.
