The plant is very healthy with lots of flowers and is always in bloom. It may have potential as an exhibitor's rose.

'Top Shelf' (SOMseber). 'Top Shelf' is a very unusual coloured rose. The underside of the petal is a deep tarnished copper and the upper petal has shades of terracotta. The bud is dark and as the flower opens it exhibits a wonderful two-tone effect. These blooms are set off by extraordinary dark glossy foliage almost "holly like" in appearance. 'Top Shelf' will be released for the first time in 2011. Floribunda. Copper and Terracotta tones. Flower Shape Formal. Flower Size 90mm. Petal Count 30 - 35. Height 1.5 - 1.7m. Habit Tall and very rounded. Fragrance 1. Disease Resistance Good. Parentage 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Remember Me'. Year of Release 2011. Introducer Glenavon Roses Ltd.

'Top Shelf' (Somseber) Breeder: Somerfield 2011. Parentage: 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Remember Me'. Terracotta. Garden: 7.0. Exhibition: 7.0. Height: Medium. Health: 6.8. Fragrance: 3.8. Awards: New Zealand Rose Industry Gold Award 2011. Availability: D&S, GLE, TAS. Franklin: Seems very healthy, has an unusual colour. Waikato: Makes a good garden rose. Bay of Plenty: This plant has the most beautiful copper flowers and plenty of them all season. Manawatu: Superior floribunda, much like the older 'Tony Jacklin', lovely glossy foliage, seems to fade a bit.

p78 John Ford. Trial Ground Review. 2011 Trial 40. 'Top Shelf' (SOMseber). Fl. A new release for 2011 bred by Rob Somerfield of Glenavon Roses. 'Top Shelf' appealed to me early in the spring with its lovely deep salmon to terracotta blooms formed in clusters, bud did not catch the eye much after that. It grew well with an upright habit, dark green foliage and was quite healthy.
