Open pollinated seedlings of this rose have all been completely thornless. Flowers have all been pink and single-to-semi-double in the style and shade of 'Commander Gillet'. They have all been repeaters and set OP hips easily. They have been picky about which cross-pollen they accept and to date I have only managed to get it to accept pollen from 'Playboy'. They do not produce prodigious amouns of pollen but the pollen it dies produce is fertile. These OP seedlings have so far been low and sprawling but quite well foliaged. So far I have not been successful getting OP seeds from them to germinate. I've not yet tried to propagate them but they grow well ownroot. They rarely show any disease down here in Tasmania.

I have five of these OP seedlings, plus a few OP 'Commander Gillet' seedling if anyone in Australia would be interested in cuttings for breeding with them.

Viru Viraraghavan? As much as I respect his work, it might be hard getting things from India to the U.S. I will ask the folks over at Texas A and M uni. Do you know where he got it?

I assume, of course that it is healthy. Do you have a picture? Bayse had some very interesting hybrids some generations past Bayse Blueberry and Legacy.
