Is this rose supposed to be multiflora 'Wedding Party'?

The source doesn't give a parentage Andrew. It is said to be a floribunda.
A favour please. Can you open the link in the Notes in the main page for this rose? It takes one straight to the source for the information, but I have never known whether members can access the info via this link.

Yes it does Patricia, both the links one to the Jackson and Perkins HMF page and the other to their website page to buy 'Garden Party' are working. I didn't realise that the second one was a link you could click on. The J & P rose has much thicker stems, bigger darker leaves and fewer larger flowers than the multiflora sport.

Sorry Andrew. i know nothing about the multiflora sport 'Wedding Party'. The only thing close is the 1905 'Wedding Bells'. Can you give me a reference or a link to it please?

Oh....and WHAT a wonderful wedding it was!

Oh sorry, sorry, sorry I got the name wrong I was confused with multiflora 'GARDEN PARTY', however it does look like as if it has this rose as a close ancestor.

It is quite, quite, quite OK to get confused with roses. They are the most lovable confusing beautiful things around.

Yep, we all get confused with names of roses being similar to names of completely different roses. I grow this "Wedding Party," the new J & P rose, and can give it a thumbs up. I really like the big clusters it customarily throws. It is a real floriBUNDA, unlike so many of the new ones these days. I'm thinking it must have something like Kimberlina or Pride of Oakland in its background somewhere, on that score.
