Not so neato Michael. I sent one email to their website address, and one to a Mia-frances, whose HelpMeFind membership showed she was at Rankins. Neither has replied.
The U.S. Patent says it was "branch mutation" - i.e. sport.
Rankins website (see refs) in 2015 said it was "found as a seedling".
This is a bit untidy, so I have added as Note to that effect.

I have just come across Comments from member ...Roses in the Paddock.... in ‘Brilliance’ 2004 in which information given to her by Rankins was that ‘Mother and Daughter’ was a found rose in their fields. . So, how accurate are the U.S. Patents?

Accurate to the penalty of civil court, but that doesn't prevent people from being shady or incompetent.
