I'm sorry that I misreported some of the details of this rose, including its correct name. It is actually called Hollyhocker, one word. It was not bred by John Nieuwesteeg but by Suzanne de Pelsenaire, then of Healesville, now of Koo Wee Rup, Victoria. It was a seedling from a rugosa seedling, grown about 2000.
Suzanne de Pelsenaire has also bred another rose called Megan's Choice, also from a seedling and also marketed by Stan Nieuwesteeg of Kurinda. It is already on his list but not yet on ours. Megan's Choice is a recurrent double white climber.

Patricia, the breeder is Suzanne de Pelsenaire, not Suzanne De Pelsenaire. These things are important to some people, including her.
