Zone 7 Northern VA, September 2023. Very fragrant

In my no-spray garden in Central Texas, this rose is rather prone to BS, and the lower 4/5 are typically denuded from the disease. A stiff, but lanky upright grower, the lack of basal breaks probably accounts for it being sold as a climber in warmer climates. The blooms are lovely and fragrant, and it's vigor has permitted it to survive, otherwise it would have been shovel pruned already. This photo is from end of season, when BS pressures are at highest.

First blooms from a second-year plant in spring 2021, zone 7B, Albuquerque New Mexico. This rose is wonderfully fragrant when you get up close and personal with her.
