Caroline's Heart was bred by Ann Boudolf (from Lens Roses in Belgium) as a tribute to their deceased colleague and friend Caroline. I visited the Lens gardens in 2019 in July and Caroline's Heart was planted in the gardens but not yet for sale. Of all the roses she had the strongest fragrance. Its a mix of myrrh with old rose. There were six bushes and they were completely covered in light pink, loosely filled flowers. It was one big spectacle. I ordered five that autumn and in 2020 they bloomed for the first time in my garden. Very healthy growth with sterdy shoots going up to about 80 cm. They bloomed for three weeks but in July she already bloomed again and even at the beginning of September she gave many flowers. In February 2021 we had two weeks of severe frost but Caroline's Heart wasn't damaged. Now in May she has more stems than last year and is beginning to bloom. I know there are so many roses but sometimes there's that new variety which is really excellent. Caroline's Heart is such a rose. Especially beautiful with blue, lilac or purple perennials.
