p. 45: Neptune Origins: a seedling of Prince Rurik variety. “Habit is quite similar to R. rugosa. Medium high. Stems are thick; the foliage is of a beautiful pale green colour. Blooms abundantly from spring until the snow in autumn. Buds are of a conic shape of medium length, black-reddish colour. Blooms are large, of reddish-blue- slate colour. Very rare unparalleled colour. The variety is “definitely hardy”.
