Masterpiece (H. Pol.). The seed parent is Anne Vanderbilt, pollen parent not known. It received highest points at the Massey Trials and was awarded a Massey National Second Class Trial Ground Certificate. This pleasing 11-petaled glorious yellow rose, something the shade of Madame Pierre S. du Pont, is an asset to its class. The attractive well-shaped tight bud, which is borne in clusters on fairly long practically thornless straight stems, opens to three - three and a half inches showing delightful yellow stamens set round a green centre, the heart-shaped petals reflexing. Sometimes the centre of the outer petals are streaked with rose-pink. Slightly veined, the centre of the bloom is a deeper yellow which does not fade, the colour of the flower being retained till the past petal drops. The rose, a prolific bloomer, opens rather quickly. It has ample tough bright green glossy foliage, and the compact plant, which is very vigorous, open and free branching.
appears disease resistant.
