California Centennial HT. (Howard, 1949) New to me but others have grown it for several years. However, it is still almost unknown. A beautifully formed crimson rose with a great plant. Worth its place in any garden.

Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1951. California Centennial  (F. Howard, 1949). Shapely buds of clear rich crimson which open to semi-double blooms and are lightly fragrant, and keep their colour well. With a few more petals this would be highly popular. Adopted in 1949 as California's State Rose.
