Alba roses ... 'Gunhild'  ...Known in culture in Sweden since 1841. .... Description ... The DNA profile of 'Gunhild' is nearest to 'Great Maiden's Blush' and 'Småkärrs Inger'. Their similarity index is 53,6%. The next closest relatives are 'Mönbö' in the Gallica group and 'Duchesse de Rohan' in the Portland group. Their similarity index is 52,0%. 'Gunhild' and 'Chloris' in the Alba group have a similarity index of 48,1%. 'Gunhild' is distinguihed most easily from 'Great Maiden's Blush' by its peduncles which are completely or mostly without prickles, whereas 'Great Maiden's Blush' has strong prickles and 'Chloris' is thornless on all branches. 
In Swedish nurseries a rose named 'Pompon Blanc Parfait' was sold for a few decades. In Pom's perception this was identical with 'Gunhild'. ... 'Pompon Blanc Parfait' in rose literature is a variety with small blooms which are white at least during part of their expanssion. ...A such plant in Denmark had 5-6 cm large blooms with small, thin petals. Pom descided that 'Gunhild' and 'Pompon Blanc Parfait' are distinct varieties.
