Surprised at the amount of yellow, and that touch of pink, has me wondering. Mine is just a flat white.

I only kept two of these seedlings. I'd bet one is an open pollinated hybrid which may be what you have there as well.

Unfortunately, as you know, some diploid species have complete or partial self incompatibility and tend to accept pollen from any other diploid in the vicinity.

I think we should ask Viru and Girija what they think.

Then as you know too, there can be considerable variation within species.

The pink is just an aged edge of the very white petals. The veining is exaggerated so that I could capture the pistil. The gold center is an artifact of increased contrast, scattered pollen and reflection.
