You are getting there Nadene. But nobody will see this in your Nadene account. Photos of roses need to be added to the rose’s page. I have reassigned your photo to the R. Foetida bicolor page and hope that is OK. You are now able to compare your photo with all others. Now all you have to do is add an appropriate caption of Name, date, garden, and Site number. ( i believe it might be: R. foetida bicolor, the date the photo was taken? Old Parliament House Rex Hazlewood Garden, site TO9 SG44.)

Hi Patricia,

Thanks for that. I had thought it was R. Foetida Bicolor too. However I found it located where Cantabrigiensis should be in V09 SG44. A section of that garden bed needs attending to for it to be moved back to its original location.

I was wondering how to upload a photo in the 'help me identify forum'. There are some roses that don't match the original plaque descriptions or map locations that I needed help identifying.

Thanks,
Nadene

Just upload your photos in the possible rose’s file giving the rose name, date, garden, and site number - if in doubt, ask for people’s opinions as to whether it may be correct or incorrect. But you will need at least photos of the bloom and the overall bush. Often a side-on photo of the bud and pedicel will help too.
If you can’t even begin to guess, put those photos in the Rex Hazlewood’s garden page and request identification help. You can always reassign the photos to their correct rose page later when you are happy with the identification.

You need to add the rose name and the date to the R. Foetida caption. If you don’t know the date the photo was taken, put before November 29 2020.

Because this is an international forum, it may work better to state the season, rather than the date, when the photo was taken.

In this case where the rose may be moved from V09 SG44 to TO9 SG44 (or vice versa) the date would be more valuable.
I feel the date will always be more valuable in any case, but always spelt out as Nov 13, 2020, rather than 11-13-2020 or 13-11-2020.

That's part of it, but it's also about making sure readers in the northern hemisphere don't make wrong assumptions about the season.
