Hello everyone, hope all's well. Can anyone help identify these please. The first one, the white seems to be a small type growing shrub about 40cm in height and width. It has a neatly formed open bloom about 5 to 6cm diameter, which lasts well with a most pleasing, strong, fresh green almost grassy scent. We came by it after seeing it in a very sorry state in a garden suppliers and felt we had to save it! It repeats throughout the season and seems to be quite disease resistant. The second was saved after it was involved in a car crash! It used to live opposite us on the street corner outside our local florist in a large concrete pot until a car drove into it smashing and crushing everything. No one was hurt, just the rose had been squashed. We recuperated and repotted what was left. The florist said she'd never liked it anyway and said we could do with it what we wanted. It was in our garden by that evening where it started its recovery. It gave a few quite unremarkable blooms last year but this year its burst into life with beautiful large flowers upto 14cm diameter. It has a classic strong rose scent opening from a dark red bud to a bright red vermilion with white flashes from the centre and on the tips of the petals. It repeated late in the season last year, we're in the France if thats of any help identifying it. Can anyone help please?

Hi Judith. Yes I think youre right it is very similar to Opalia. Certainly the closest match I've had suggested. Hope the weather gets better for your roses soon, down here in the south we're not far away from full bloom already. Merci et bon courage!

Wow, thats fantastic. How do you go about identifying anonymous roses so well? Yes I'm in agreement, it is just like Criterion and due to its popularity in France I'm pretty sure you're right. Thanks alot, its great to know there are people like yourselves always willing to help beginners like me whenever you can. Thanks again!
