In selecting roses to grow for exhibition, first determine the sections you intend to compete in; then choose some of the finest of each class, taking care to select a good proportion of such as have bright glowing colours ; for such flowers as the (Hybrid China) Chenedole and La Meteore, make a more rich display than more perfect flowers of the same colours could do.
