New Zealand Patio Roses

'Frilly Dilly'. This shell-pink rose has a most unusual form. The fully open bloom is about 5cm in diameter and the 80-90 petals are long in relation to their width, slightly cupped and with a tendency to be stacked in columns, the length of each underlying petal being slightly greater than the one above. Usually very multi-petalled roses need warm climates to open fully and this is probably why 'Frilly dilly' does especially well in Australia. Not yet available in New Zealand. Raised by Cocker, United Kingdom. Introduced 1986.

p59. 'Sun Baby'. (Korbitom). (syn 'Sonnenkind', 'Perestroika'). Bright yellow blooms are beautifully formed and prolific on a strong healthy bush. Together with 'Little Nugget', this is considered one of the best yellow patio roses with its bright, almost gold, hybrid tea-shaped blooms. Grows well in containers and would enhance any small garden. Available in Australia but not yet available in New Zealand. Raised by Kordes, Germany. Parentage: unnamed seedling x 'Goldmarie'. Introduced 1986.
