Pæonies at Long Ditton.
The nurseries of Messrs. Barr & Sons would at this season gladden the hearts of all lovers of hardy border flowers—more especially lovers of the beautiful Chinese Pæonies. [...] The double Chinese Pæonies are somewhat later than the single forms...with the exception of a few, of which mention may be made as early flowering sorts, such as Adelaide de Lache, carmine rose, very large; John Fraser, beautiful rose; Madame Furtado, rose pink; Belle Douaisienne, delicate blush, which passes off white; Comte de Paris, outer petals rose carmine, centre blush.

Pæonies From Langport.
A boxful of named varieties has reached us from Messrs. Kelway and Son, Langport, Somerset. [...] None of the double varieties was entirely white, though there were several pale and choice varieties. [...] Another strikingly distinct flower is that named Agnes Mary Kelway, moderate in size and consisting of three rows of broad silvery-pink petals forming a guard to a great zone of closely packed and short yellow petals, surrounding a central knot of purple ones.

Plants Recently Certificated.
Pæony Alton Lock.—This is a rather small-flowered tree Pæony, but the rich deep crimson of its semi-double flowers makes up for the lack of size. Messrs. Kelway & Son.

NB: mis-spelled and mis-classified.

Pæonies at Long Ditton.
The nurseries of Messrs. Barr & Sons would at this season gladden the hearts of all lovers of hardy border flowers—more especially lovers of the beautiful Chinese Pæonies [...] Mention may be made of half-a-dozen of the most distinct and free flowering kinds—Queen of May, a lovely rose; Beatrice, a delicate rose pink; Princess of Wales, a blush pink; Victoria, a beautiful bright crimson; Venus, a bright rose tipped white; and Dawn of Day, a snow white with large and handsome shaped flowers.

Some New Garden Plants.
Pæonia Moutan, Beatrice Kelway.
The flowers of this variety are single with a few pure white elegantly crimped petals. The pistil is purple, forming a curious conical undivided mass in the centre, instead of being divided into a number of follicles or carpels as is usually the case in the Pæony. In this character it more resembles a Poppy than a member of the Ranunculus family. The filaments are white, with yellow anthers. Cut flowers were shown at the Drill Hall, on the 13th inst. by Messrs. Kelway & Son, who received an Award of Merit for it.

New Varieties of Pæonia albiflora.
Daubenton.—The outer petals of this variety are broad, flat, rose-coloured, and form a sort of guard to the inner petals, which are much smaller, very numerous, and rose coloured with white tips. The flower itself is of good size. Madame Bertioz.—This is evidently a very vigorous variety, for the flowers may be described as of huge size, even for a double of P. albiflora. The petals are of a uniform deep red, very numerous, and the inner ones are of moderate width, and slightly cut. Both were shown by Messrs. Paul & Son, Cheshunt, at the Drill Hall, on the 24th inst., and received Awards of Merit.
