Dear esteemed members of HMF,
In this occasion I would like to contact you regarding HT ‘Chantré´ (R. Kordes 1958). It was one of the roses grown by my grandfather in his collection, and until 2010 or so, I could not find even a single picture of it. It was when some colleagues in the Budatétény Rose Garden (Budapest, Hungary) who finally help me with a good number of pictures that matched quite good with the description, but I still would like to get some more information regarding this Kordes HT.
There is a Reference in HMF ‘Chantré’ Page, referring AMERICAN ROSE ANNUAL (authored by ARS). Do anyone know if there is any reference of this catalog to check if there is a picture/drawing or description of ‘Chantré’??? Sending my warmest regards from a rainy summer evening in BA.

I checked my copy of the American Rose Annual for 1959.
The entry about 'Chantre' is included in the section "New Roses of the World", one of a list of recent rose introductions at the end of the Rose Annual for that year. Sorry, no pictures. Your pictures on HMF show a nice rose with very interesting color. It seems a pity that this one seems to have been forgotten.

Thank you so much for your contribution, Nastarana!. Indeed it is a pity not only this beauty seems to have been forgotten, but also there are just a few pictures available and so little information. Once again, thank you very much!.

There are quite a few references I am finding (once I get down to it). I've added a photo, and will keep searching and typing. It might be better if you put your questions about a rose ('Chantre') in that rose's page.
I will reply further in the 'Chantre' file.

Does anyone have the ebook version of the American Rose Annual for 1924 and 1925? I require them for research. If you have one or both please message me. Thanks Sandie

I couldn't find a copy of either on any of the online sites Sandie - they stop at 1923. It looks like the National library in Canberra holds copies if that's an option. Are you looking for any particular article?
