ARS: Orange-pink Hybrid Tea.Registration name: Willowmere
 
Bloom: Orange-pink, yellow shading, carmine-pink outer petals, ages to salmon-pink .  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.   
Habit: Few or no prickles/thorns, upright, well-branched.  Light green foliage.  
 
Growing: USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Notes: 'Willowmere' was named for the Roslyn, Long Island home of Admiral and Mrs. Aaron Ward.  Admiral Ward was a friend and patron of Pernet-Ducher, and at Willowmere he maintained an extensive collection of roses, of which he sometimes wrote evaluations for various gardening publications. |
