My comment: As this rose was bred by a Dutch company, I wondered why the name was spelled like this. In Dutch it would have been Leeuwerik (lark as the bird)

It's hard to say, Jay-Jay. The rose was bred by a company/person in the Netherlands, but according to the Modern Roses 12 REFERENCE I added, it was introduced by Gandy's Roses Ltd. in the United Kingdom. I don't know if was introduced by any other nursery. Maybe Gandy kind of butchered the spelling of the rose name when they introduced the rose.

The name was spelled as "Leuwerik", because she is German and she spells her name like that.
