Heros (H.T.) has large, double, very full flowers borne singly upon strong stems of deep glowing red. Habit is bushy and upright, flowers retain their colour, foliage is dark green and profuse, and flowering almost continuous. Tantau 1933...Vigorous. Very fragrant...June-September. Hardy.

In placing Heros (Tantau, 1933) first in value, it must not be thought that this variety is better than those just mentioned. It has a short, pointed bud, opening to a flower of thirty petals, which fade to light red, while the growth is moderate on present performances.

Heros, from Tantau, had very ordinary crimson-scarlet flowers on poor plants. I think we can get along without it.

New Roses 1935.  Heros (HT. M. Tantau 1933) 'Johanniszauber' x 'Etoile de Hollande'. A red rose of great beauty. The splendid colouring never fades or turns blue. The bud is pointed, the flower very large and well filled, blooming abundantly and highly scented. A splendid rose for any purpose and has excited great admiration wherever exhibited. 4/- each.
30 petals, which fade to light red. Moderate growth.
