Pic. is from 2011 Austin Catalog stating Evelyn having 100 petals. See EXPOSED yellow stamens which makes its old rose / peaches scent powerful. Never see RMV, blackspots, rust, mildew, nor proliferation in my 12th-year-own root Evelyn (a short shrub with fast repeat). It's the healthiest rose among my 160 fragrant varieties, and deer and rabbits don't eat it. Blooms last long in the vase with intense peach scent.

Pic. is from 2016 Austin Catalog showing the 2nd version of Evelyn (climber sport) with buttonhole and irregular petals, which is DIFFERENT from the 1st version in 2011 Austin catalog with exposed yellow stamens and 100 smaller petals. My 12th-year own root Evelyn is a short shrub version with fast repeat, exposed stamens, and always healthy with intense peachy scent (a few blooms can perfume the entire room).

David Austin website states Evelyn has having 100 petals, versus only 70 petals in Abraham Darby. Evelyn has old rose/peaches scent, versus Abe's sharp citrus scent. My SHRUB version of Evelyn can be pruned hard down to 1 foot, massive spring flush plus 3 fast repeats. Own root Evelyn is much healthier than Abraham Darby (prone to blackspots). There's also the climber version of Evelyn with buttonhole and lighter color. I have the short shrub version with fast repeat, healthy glossy leaves and intense peach scented blooms.
