Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1969).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) as 'Eyepaint'.

Floribunda, Shrub.  

Red or vermilion, white center, yellow stamens, white-ish reverse.  Mild fragrance.  5 to 7 petals.  Average diameter 2.5".  Small to medium, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  

Tall, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, spreading.  Small, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).  Width: 30" to 3' (75 to 90cm).

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for container rose, cut flower, garden, ground cover or hedge.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

The breeder's Reference for this rose is Maceye. The New Zealand Trade Name is 'Eyepaint'. This PVR Grant was surrendered on March 14, 1983.
