Book (1975) Page(s) 110. Dr. A. S. Thomas, Victoria. Some of the New Ones. Tatjana, HT. (Kordes, 1970) ('Liebeszauber' x 'President Dr. H. C. Schroeder'). Very beautiful dark red colouring but not enough petals. Very vigorous with splendid foliage.
Book (1973) Page(s) 148. Dr. A. S. Thomas Victoria. The New Ones. Tatjana HT. (Kordes, 1970). This was Kordes' "Rose of the Year" in 1970. Strongly perfumed, beautifully formed and very dark red. Despite the depth of the colour, there is plenty of life in it. An upright, vigorous grower with deep green shiny foliage which is reddish when young. This is the rose that a few of us saw and admired in New Zealand under the name on 'Rosenthal'. I mentioned it in the 1972 edition of this annual. This misrepresentation is of New Zealand origin it seems. It was suspected by one member of the Australian group, who grew 'Tatjana' under trial for two years.
Book (1972) Page(s) 143. Dr. Thomas, Victoria. The New Ones. New Zealand gardeners are favoured by their nurserymen with new roses, in many instances, two or three years earlier than are we Australians..... 'Rosenthal' is a very dark red, almost as dark as 'Tassin, which opens well and is of exhibition standard. They are both in Australia but it is anybody's guess when they will be released,
